Crystals & Flowers Wall Hanging

Hi Everyone,

For today's Connie Crystal post I was definitely in a Spring mood! For me, nothing says Spring more than pretty flowers. But nothing says a beautiful wall hanging more than pretty flowers with lots of beads & bling!!!

And that is just exactly what I used for this floral wall hanging. This is one of your home decor items that looks nice in your house and is also very simple to create. You can put this project together in about an hour and a half.

So, the next time you have an hour and a half and you're looking for something to do, I hope you'll gather up all of your Connie Crystal beads and crystals and start crafting!
For a complete supply list and instructions for this project, please visit the Connie Crystal Blog at www.sparklebycc.com

Magic of Oz Photo Book- Part 2

Hi Everyone,

Welcome back to my blog for part 2 of my "Magic of Oz" photo book series.  For today's post I'm sharing pages 5 through 8.  As I said in my first post on this photo book, it was created with Graphic 45 pattern papers and I made it in honor of my all time favorite movie, The Wizard of Oz!

I don't have any directions for this photo book because it's basically a project that you create how you want it to look.  I did use Zip Dry Paper Glue for my adhesive, Clearsnap inkpads and the rubber stamps are from Hampton Arts.

There are no rules with this and for me the more bling that you put in it, the better. So, here are the next few pages. I hope you'll take the time to create one of these books for yourself. I had an absolute blast!!!

Thank you for joining me.  Until next time...

Magic of Oz Photo Book- Part 1

Hi Everyone,

As I promised in last weeks blog, I'll be starting my "Magic of Oz" Photo Book's four part series today and I am super excited to be sharing this with you.  I created this design last year and I have to say that this project is in my top 5 favorite projects that I have ever designed!  But honestly how could it not be!  I have taken two of my very favorite things, images from the Wizard of Oz and pattern paper from my favorite paper company, Graphic 45.

The "Magic of Oz" Photo Book is 18 pages and it's full of Graphic 45's pattern papers & chipboard pieces.  It also has rubber stamped images from Hampton Arts who has a line of rubber stamps that match the Graphic 45 papers.  All of the inkpads are from Clearsnap and the adhesive I used is Zip Dry Paper Glue from Beacon AdhesivesOn top of all that, the photo book has lots and lots of other embellishments and lots of different ribbons!

I don't have any directions for this photo book because it's basically a project that you create how you want it to look.  There are no rules with this and for me the more bling that you put in it, the better.  So, here are the first few pages. I hope you'll take the time to create one of these books for yourself.  I had an absolute blast!!!

Be sure you come back next Monday for part 2 of my series on The "Magic of Oz" Photo Book!

Thank you for joining me. Until next time...

Floral Memo Board

 Hi Everyone,

I am so excited to share this new design with you. This project was created with a new set of dies designed by my friend, Eileen Hull, for Sizzix. Her new collection is called Picket Fence and this project features her "Box Window & Clay Pot" dies. The dies will be available for purchase in June 2013.
Bella Crafts Quarterly Spring Edition | @bellacraftsquarterlyI used the dies in a different way to create this memo board. I used the window box to hold Post-it notes, created a couple of pens that I placed in the flower pot. The project is in the current Spring issue of my magazine, Bella Crafts Quarterly. You can get a complete material list and instructions by going to our website at bellacraftsquarterly.com. The magazine is always a FREE download and you can view it for free by visiting the website. You will love the magazine from the moment you see it!

Thank you for joining me. Until next time...

Magic of Oz Easel Card

Hi Everyone,

Everyone that knows me well knows that my very favorite movie of all time is the Wizard of Oz. I even have a whole room in my house that is full of Wizard of Oz memorabilia that we call the Oz Room!

I also love every piece of pattern paper that comes out of Graphic 45. So, you can imagine my excitement when Graphic 45 came out with their Oz papers. I thought I had died and gone to heaven!!!

Of course after I calmed down from my excitement I just had to make some projects with this fabulous pattern paper! One of my projects was this great easel card putting this great paper together with my favorite ink company, Clearsnap. This is the result. What do you think?

If you want more Wizard of Oz, stayed tuned as I start my four part series on the wonderful Wizard of Oz altered book that I created. This first post will be on Monday, March 18th and here's a sneak peek~

Connie Crystal Post- A Beaded Birdcage

Hi Everyone,

Birdcages are so popular right now. You can get them in all shapes and sizes. You can get them made from wire or you can make your own out of paper like I did. But whatever way you decide to go, a birdcage is just going to be a birdcage unless you add some bling!

Connie Crystal is the perfect place to get the bling that you need for all of your crafting projects! When I was first asked to be on their design team 6 months ago, I jumped at the chance to work with all of the beautiful crystal and beads that the company carries. With all of the different color choices and the different sizes you can get from the company, it really is your one stop shopping for all of the bling in your life!

True Beauty Card

Hi Everyone,

One of the techniques that I love to use when I'm designing cards is layering. I just love to layer multiple papers and embellishments on my cards and scrapbook pages. Even though I love this look, I always found it hard to accomplish. I am one of those people who can't draw a straight line with a ruler!

When I found the KellyCraft Get-it-Striaght Laser Square at last summer's CHA show, I thought I had died and gone to heaven! Finally! I found a tool that takes all the guess work out for me and I can layer my projects once again without the stress of making sure everything was straight!
True Beauty Card

Supplies
Cardstock- Ivory, Lt. Aqua, Dk. Aqua, Rose, Green
Foam Squares
Rhinestone Embellishments
Flowers
Instructions
Make a color copy of the rose image onto a piece
of ivory cardstock. You'll need two copies for layering.
Cut your cardstock as follows: Base card is 8"H x 6"W.
Pattern paper 7 3/4"H x 5 3/4"W, Rose cardstock
5"H x 3 1/2"W, Dark Aqua cardstock 2 1/4"H x 5 3/4"W,
Green cardstock 3"H x 2/14"W, Ivory 2 3/4"H x 2"W.
Cut out large rose in sections. Curl edges of each
piece with the end of a paintbrush.

Stamp small frame onto ivory cardstock. On a piece
of scrap ivory cardstock, stamp wording with Sparrow
inkpad.

Cut out center of frame. Attach wording to the back
of the frame with glue.
Using the Get-it-Straight Laser Square, line up all
of your layers and adhere them with glue.

Once your layers are all in place, adhere your floral
layers to large rose image with foam squares. Next,
adhere rhinestone embellishements, wording and
flowers. Use picture if needed for placement.

This picture shows the layers of the flower.

A Beautiful Birdcage

Hi Everyone!

I just love birdcages! They are so popular now and you can get them in a variety of styles and colors. When I first saw this birdcage in a craft store, my mind started seeing all of the different things I could do with it. I finally settled on something that’s a little more elegant with the beautiful crystals and lace that I added to it. What type of birdcage would you create?

If you would like to recreate this birdcage, you can find the complete material list and instructions in the Spring issue of Bella Crafts Quarterly at bellacraftsquarterly.com

Thank you for joining me. Until next time...
