Connie Crystal's Blog- Blue Crystal Earrings

Hi Everyone,

I love earrings, all different kinds. I love big hoops, small hoops, long dangling ones, short ones, you get the idea. My absolute favorite kind of earrings are any kind that has diamonds in them! What can I say? This girl loves her diamonds! I have 6 piercings in one ear and 7 in the other, so that makes for a lot of diamonds! But as I said, I love all different kinds of earrings and almost anything that has bling!

Since I have all of these beautiful crystals and beads, I decided to make a pair for myself. Blue is my all time favorite color and when I looked through my stash and found these gorgeous blue crystals, I knew I had found what I was looking for to make my new earrings. These earrings are so simple to make I know that you'll want to make a pair for yourself.

Thank you for joining me. Until next time...

Hi Everyone,

For today's Wordless Wednesday's post, I thought I woud share a very simple card that took no longer than 1/2 hour to make. The hardest part to this card (if you could call it that!) was the eyelets. That's it! Super easy but super cute!

Spring Issue of Bella Crafts Quarterly!!!

Hi Everyone,

Spring is right around the corner and I'm happy to say that the new addition of Bella Crafts Quarterly is almost here also!  The next issue will be available for download on March 1st.  This issue is loaded with projects that will have you counting the days until Spring is here.

I found a wire birdcage at my local craft store and turned into a beautiful piece for your home with some floral embellishments and some lovely crystals from Connie Crystal.  I also created a few projects from my dear friend, Eileen Hull's new collections of dies called the Picket Fence Collection that Sizzix will be releasing in June.  Once you see these dies, you'll be counting the days till you can get to the craft store and buy some for yourself.  I know you will love them as much as I did when I saw them being previewed at the CHA show in January!

Of course we'll have lots of other wonderful projects for you to see and hopefully create some for yourself.  And on the business end of crafting, we have articles about beginning  scrapbooking, photography, and social media.  We will also have articles on the craft business from the industry's top designers sharing their expertize and knowledge with you.

The Spring issue is jam packed with lots of projects and articles all relating to the craft industry and you're not going to want to miss it.  Mark your calendars for this Friday, March 1st.  Bella Crafts Quarterly will be at a computer near you.
Don't miss it~ bellacraftsquarterly.com

Pretty in Pink Bracelet

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to share with you a project that I created for Connie Crystal! If you would like to see more wonderful projects with Connie Crystal, visit their website at www.sparklebycc.com. Check it out!

I thought for this Connie Crystal post, I would design something that I don't normally design. I decided I would create a bracelet! I know you asking yourself, she works for a company that sells beautiful beads and crystals...aren't you supposed to be creating jewelry? Well, the answer to that is yes and no.

When I was first asked to join this design team, the design team leader said I would be using these gorgeous crystals in other projects of my choice besides jewelry and I jumped at the chance to be able to create with all of this beautiful bling!!! But every once in a while you need to step out of your comfort zone. And that's exactly what I did.

Thank you for joining me. Until next time...

Wordless Wednesday- Rub-a-dub-dub Scrapbook Page

Wordless Wednesday's are the days that I post just a project without instructions or a supply list.

Hi Everyone,

For this Wordless Wednesday project I thought I'd share a very simple scrapbook page.
This page is so simple that you can recreate it in less than an hour. Most of my projects are very detailed because I love a lot of detail in my work, but every once in a while I like to go back to the basics and create something fast and easy.

Hearts & Flourishes Velvet Stamped Pillow

Hi Everyone,

I did not create this pillow as something to cuddle up with. I created it as that gorgeous accent piece in your living room that your friends and family will envy each time they see it. This pillow would also be a beautiful accent piece for your bedroom set.

I just love to velvet stamp my projects. It's such a quick and easy technique, but the results are always stunning! This pillow is no different. It will take you about an hour and a half to make and when you see the finished project, you'll be wanting to make more. I have said in the past that I am not one for sewing in my projects, but these are the times I love pulling out my sewing machine!

Thank you for joining me. Until next time...

Cupid's Vase

Hi Everyone,

I thought with Valentine's Day being right around the corner, I'd share a couple of projects this week that I designed for the latest issue of my online digital magazine, Bella Crafts Quarterly. To see more projects for the upcoming holiday created by myself and my talented business partners, Ann Butler, Carol Heppner and Theresa Cifali, please check out the Valentine's issue at bellacraftsquarterly.com. It is a FREE online magazine that you can view online, download to your computer, or for a small printing fee, you can get a printed copy through Magcloud at www.magcloud.com.

In case your significant other buys you a beautiful bouquet, you don't want to put it in any old vase. You want to put them in something as pretty as the flowers themselves. Not only is this vase pretty, it's also very simple to create. I hope you decide to create one for yourself or a friend!

Thank you for joining me. Until next time...

Looking Into The Past- Receipe Book & Magnet

Hi Everyone,

I thought for today's post, we'd take a look into the past. This receipe book and magnet is a cute and quick project to create for yourself or a friend. I think it would be a great addition with a crock pot for a bridal shower or house warming gift. It would give the gift a nice personal touch.

Please remember that with this project or any of my " Looking into the Past" projects were designed a few years ago and some of the products may no longer be available. All you need to do is change the products to what's on the market now. The project will look different but the basic design is still there.

This project was published some years ago and because the instructions are hard to read, I have written them again under the project picture. I hope you have fun creating this project. If you want to share your creation with me I would love to see it and post it on my blog.

Thank you for joining me. Until next time...

Instructions for Recipe Book

Step 1.    Using a Xyron Machine adhere cherry pattern paper to white glossy cardstock. Lay apron pattern on glossy cardstock, trace and cut out. You will need a front and back piece.  Next, lay pattern on red cardstock and trace. Cut out approximately 1/4” smaller.

Step 2.   On red cardstock, stamp cherries with the VersaMark pad and emboss with clear powder. Outline edges with white gel pen. Next, stamp cherries on red cardstock (scrap papers work great for this!) using VersaMark pad and emboss with white powder. Cut out cherries. Stamp girl on white cardstock with black pigment pad, emboss with clear powder. Color with watercolors and cut out. Adhere girl to red cardstock with Xyron machine. Attach cherries to red cardstock  using 3D Dots (or foam tape). Adhere red cardstock to apron front.

Step 3.   For the inside of the recipe book, trace pattern twice on to ten sheets of white printer paper giving you twenty pieces of pages for your recipes. Next punch three holes along the side of apron front and back, and also all of the inside pieces. To put the book together, cut wire approximately 16". Fold wire in half, twist a loop at the fold and add one bead. Next, put the wire ends down through the center hole of book and back up the top and bottom holes. Add beads to the left and right sides of the center hole and tie together at the center hole. Wrap extra wire around paintbrush to make curls. Punch two holes at the top of the apron front and add wire.

 Instructions for Magnet

Step 1.    Lay apron pattern on to Shrink-It. Trace the pattern and also the "pocket" with a black permanent marker. Add little lines and dots around all the edges with marker. On the apron pocket, write your name (or whatever) with marker. Stamp cherries on apron with black permanent stamp pad, let dry. Color with pencils, cut out both pieces. Punch holes in the top of apron.

Step 2.   Preheat toaster oven to 275-325 degrees. Bake Shrink-It following manufactures instructions. When finished baking, glue apron pocket and miniature rolling pin to apron using "Grab It" glue. Lay apron on to green pattern paper and trace. Cut out green paper and glue to back of apron with Xyron. Next, lay apron on to a sheet of magnet, trace and cut out. Peel off backing of magnet paper and adhere to back of apron. Add curled wire to the top of the apron.

Designer Tip- If you do not have a Xyron machine, you can use spray adhesive, double sided tape or a glue stick.
