Cell Phone Cases- Part 2 of 4

Hi Everyone,

Happy Memorial Day! For those of you in the Armed Forces or have a loved one in the military and they’re far from home, my wish for all of you on this day is that you all be together one day very soon!

As I promised last week, today I want to share with all of you the second cell phone case in my four part series. Last week’s cell phone case was a little on the funky side with the animal print that would super hot with a blazer and a pair of jeans. This case is a little more elegant; something that you could wear around your neck for a night on the town.

This case is so easy to make and it’s done by using one of my favorite stamping techniques, velvet stamping! Velvet stamping is so simple to do, but the results can be stunning. Always make sure when you do any velvet stamping that you buy the high quality velvet, Acetate Rayon. This velvet will give you the best stamped impressions that are very crisp and clear. But the best thing about this project…you can make the whole thing in less than an hour. What could be better than that!

So, get out those irons and the sewing machines and have fun!

Thanks for joining me. Until next time…

Cell Phone Cases- 1 of 4 Part Series

Hi Everyone,

I don’t know about any of you, but I really love carrying a big purse. They are so convenient for throwing all of that girl stuff that we all seem to not be able to live without! You really can carry just about anything in those big purses and we do, because heaven forbid we are out somewhere and we forgot something! You don’t have to worry about that because you carry everything that you need in your purse!

Well, I also found an added treat for carrying a big purse. My husband absolutely hates my purse and he refuses to get inside of it. He calls it “the pit”! Then one day when I asked him for the hundredth time to pull something out of my purse for me, it hit me! I can hide all kinds of things in there that I don’t want him to see! You know what I’m talking about. Maybe it’s a receipt for a fabulous new treasure you found and just can’t live without, or many it’s an extra twenty dollar bill that you want to save for the new Michael’s sale. But either way all you need to do is stuff it in your purse and he’ll never find it! (Sorry Honey!)

Now that I have mentioned the pluses of a big purse (and probably just lowered the divorce rate in America) there’s always a down side. Like trying to find your stupid cell phone when you standing in line for a great sale at Michael’s. When you do find it, you check caller id and find out your husband is trying to reach you. How do they always seem to know you’re at the sale anyways? Maybe our men have secret gadgets too!

Anyways, I just hate digging through my purse for my phone! I decided that I wanted to do something about that so I designed these phone cases that you can wear around your neck. No more digging for that ringing phone!!! Woo Hoo!!!

I have designed four different cell phone cases and I will be sharing those projects with you once a week for the next four weeks, with complete instructions and pictures. I hope you’ll find a style that you like or who knows, maybe you’ll like all four!!! Be sure to check back with me on each Monday.

Thanks for joining me. Until next time…

Looking into the Past- Wedding Ideas

Hi Everyone,

Since next month is one of the favorite months to get married in, I decided that my "Look into the Past" article would be on a project that I had published years ago in a multi-designer book that I did with DRG Publishing called "101 Paper Craft Gift Ideas".

The project consists of three designs for a wedding; the invitation, a small centerpiece, and a party favor. The projects were very simple to make and they are all great ideas for that special couple looking for items they can create for their special day that won't break their bank account in the process.

The centerpiece is one of my favorite designs. So much so that I recreated the lamp as part of my daughter's wedding centerpieces. My daughter's centerpieces were a lot more elaborate then this one, but again if you're on a budget, this is perfect! And you could always add more to it if you want to.

I would love to know what your thoughts are on this project, so if you have the time, leave me a comment and let me know.

Thanks for joining me. Unitl next time...

Michael & Amanda Engaged!!!

Hi Everyone,

I am so excited I could bust right now! It seems to me that things in my life just keep getting better and better and I have two wonderful announcements to share with all of you- First, those of you who have been following my blog know that I have Crohn’s disease, an intestinal disease that pretty much runs your life. I went to see my specialist a few weeks ago who told me that I need to see my surgeon about the removal of an abdominal hernia that I have due to the 22 previous surgeries that I have had. My heart sank. The last thing I want is another surgery! The good news is, after seeing my surgeon this last week, he told me NO surgery for right now!!! As long as it’s not giving me any trouble, then there’s need to do surgery at this time! Woo Hoo!!!

Now that is fabulous news all in itself, but I got even better news. My son and his girlfriend have decided that they’re going to get married next year! That was just the greatest news! Michael & Amanda have been dating for three years and as a daughter-in-law, I could not have asked for a better one. She is a beautiful young woman who absolutely adores my son and when he recently had a seizure at work, she never left his side the whole time he was in the hospital.  As a mother, especially a mother with health issues of her own, those kinds of things are what you want for your son’s wife. You want for someone to be there for your kids who will love them, take care of them and share a life with them. Amanda does all of those things for my son and much more. I couldn’t have picked a better life partner for him if I did it myself!

So, with my daughter's new baby coming in December and a wedding next September, I’m going to be a very busy Mom & Nana. And you know what? I couldn’t be happier for both of my children as they start these new chapters in their lives. I want to share some pictures of the happy couple and a project I designed for them. I hope you like them.

For Michael & Amanda, I am so happy for the both of you! You two were made for one another and I’m so glad that you found your way to each other. I wish you both a long and happy marriage together with lots of love, babies, and good times. Remember to  be kind to each other,  always put each other first and love each other with all of your heart! Congratulations!!!

Thanks for joining me. Until next time…

Designer Craft Connection- ImpressArt Blog Hop

Hi Everyone,

The day is finally here! The Designer Craft Connection professional designers have been very busy creating wonderful designs with the fabulous products from ImpressArt Metal Stamps and embellishments.

I must admit that this was the very first time I used these metal stamps and I was a little nervous that they would be hard to use. My first thought was I was going to break one of my fingers, or worse than that, I would break a new manicured nail! Oh my gosh, we cannot have that! But I realized that after I practiced a few times and I made sure that I taped the metal embellishment down to the metal pounding block, these little metal stamps were very easy to use.

Well, that was all it took to have me hooked! I began pounding these little metal stamps on everything. I finally had to stop because the constant pounding was scaring my little wiener dog so badly that I was sure she was going to have a doggie heart attack!!!

So with scared wiener dogs aside, if you’re looking for great ideas using these terrific metal stamps, you have come to the right place. All you need to do is clink on the Designer Craft Connection blinkie on the right side of my blog to begin hopping from one blog to the next. And for more information on the ImpressArt Metal Stamps and embellishments, please visit their blog at www.impressart.com. I hope you have a wonderful time hopping from blog to blog. I know I will!!!

Thank you for joining me. Until next time…
